submitted by Kathy - |Recommended: YesI lived at Keystone for a whole 6 years and really enjoyed my time here Maintenance is responsive, I never heard neighbors through the walls, parking is a breeze, and the location is perfect for a neighborhood stroll and to access downtown west side I would highly recommend living here. The cons I can share are that occasionally laundry machines have been down or folks have left their items for longer than welcome, sometimes dog owners aren't great at picking up after their pups, and I had a handful of run-ins where our key fobs needed to be replaced due to system issues. Having listed these concerns, Keystone and Steve Brown Apartment staff have always been responsive and addressed every issue I listed quickly enough that they were just minor inconveniences that come with apartment living.

submitted by  - |Recommended: NoApartment is noisy. No manager on site. Entrance alarm has been going off for 2 days straight. Poor insulation in ceilings so you hear everything upstairs. Unhappy with quality and experience.

Only one trash room in the whole building And only 5 laundry machines for over 80 units The advertisements stated the manager will be on site 7-24 and we don’t even see them In normal business hours. The floor is not fully cleaned. The bathroom is barely cleaned. This building is simply a joke.
submitted by Mitchell M. - |Recommended: NoToo expensive for minimal effort — There are a few problems I could name off the top of my head. First, any problems on the property seem to be reoccurring or never dealt with. Example 1 The broken glass outside the front door wasn't cleared for over a week. I still go down to the door and can find shards at least half a centimeter long all around the sidewalk and front steps. I no longer can take my dog outside that door in fear that he will step on something. Example 2 The side doors by the garage do not open 50 of the time when you scan. They just stay locked when you pull on them after scanning. I rated property staff low because it seems like someone is in the office once a month at most. On that monthly occurrence, the light is on in the office but no one is in there. When the parking garage was being painted in May, there was a day warning, followed by no accommodations for other parking arrangements. I moved and got a parking ticket in a 2 hour zone. Meanwhile, some people simply didn't leave the level that was being painted that day and no fines or penalties were dealt out. The paint job isn't even complete on the transition between the first and second level since people didn't move. Also, it would've been 100x better to do this project in June or July when more people were gone. Not during finals week. Worst of all, the price increases. The more we stay here, the more expensive things get. When I first moved in, the guy on the phone told me 3 different prices for the facility fee over a week span. Then you go and start bumping up prices left and right. It makes me not want to rent another year, but I have to out of convenience. Wouldn't fully recommend

submitted by Miles W. - |Recommended: NoStandard Steve brown quality — Parking is tight and always full. Things keep breaking, lights always going out, heat went out. Grounds are covered in dog poop all the time. Only five laundry machines for the whole building. Mail is a big pile on the floor. Maintenance staff are nice and helpful but the building is poorly built. Also apartment was not move in ready when we arrived, needed new carpet. Way too expensive for how small the rooms are, and have no storage space. Find somewhere cheaper and not with Steve brown

Good luck with a future resident with the water leak. Whenever it rains, the resident should go back to apt to prepare tower and basket.
submitted by Cindy S. - |Recommended: YesSecure, convenient, staff could improve — Nice location, secure building, nice to have underground parking. Some of the units have nice patios or porches. Very tall ceilings make it feel roomy. Modern hard surface floors and low pile bedroom carpet. Good sized kitchens. The free' laundry facilities are inadequate for the volume of residents, and the machines are constantly broken. The staff is not very responsive. When the maintenance people do come, they are nice and competent. The building needs upkeep especially the windows, doors, appliances.

submitted by Faith P. - |Recommended: YesOkay for the Price — This apartment is beautiful and functions well for my roommates and I. The quality of some of the fixtures specifically the windows is extremely lackluster. The maintenance staff is efficient and attentive, and did their best to get our windows working in a timely fashion, but when it was on the actual property staff to bring the vendor in to repair our windows, it took three months. The building is quiet, and I have not noticed consistent issues because of pets in the building. The laundry room is something to note there are only 5 machines in the whole building, and through almost my entire time living here, at least one washer or dryer has been broken. This can make it extremely difficult to do laundry if you are only free on weekends or at nights. Overall, it is decent for the price, but there are definitely improvements to be made.
submitted by Marlana M. - |Recommended: YesGreat location, friendly staff, and secure building. — Brownlofts is conveniently located on a major bus line close to downtown. Outside of special events and game days at stadium the neighborhood is quite and welcoming. The neighborhood is safe and the building requires fob scans at all entrances--not just your individual apartment--so you can feel more secure in your apartment. The staff are always friendly, understanding, and responsive. Steve Brown also has quick and easy afterhours contact for late night emergencies, repairs, or lockouts. The apartments are generally appealing and feature inviting newer, modern design elements. Bonuses include easy to access 24-hour onsite laundry facilities and optional covered parking in an underground garage available to lease a must for those winter and spring storms .
submitted by Yeonhee P. - |Recommended: NoThere is a serious water leak from the ceiling with three spots. I couldn't use my living room. I put my laptop and it was almost broken previously when it was raining. Whenever it rains, I need to come home earlier to put everything away from the living room and prepare something with towers on the floor. It seems very serious. I reported many times, but the request is still open. I talked with the maintenance, and it seems very hard to fix it. Previously, a maintenance told me he would bring the one who built this building to know what happened inside...but never updated over three months.
submitted by Tiara W. - |Recommended: YesVery nice, homey, welcoming — It is a quiet, cozy yet fancy place to live. It is a perfect location next to west campus and Camp Randall. The apartment building is a perfect size - not like a dense high rise building. The architecture and layout is pleasing and the management is very efficient and accommodating.
