The kitchen has nice, new, stainless steel appliances which is great. The dishwasher and built in microwave are my favorites. -The maintenance guy always comes within one business day and is very friendly and knowledgable. -Separate shower toilet from the sink in our apartment. It's nice for when you live with multiple people only sharing one bathroom. -Free laundry is awesome -The kitchen hallway living room floors are good quality. -Big windows with big window sills for plants. -Beautiful flowers they put in the entry and by the parking garage. -The water pressure in the shower is good. -There is always hot water in the shower -The heat AC has never broken -Free cable and internet is awesome. -Big cabinets in the kitchen for storing our food. Plenty of storage space for our food and kitchen items. -Availability of an underground, climate-controlled parking garage. -Big closets Cons -The quality of the windows is very cheap. They are made of wood and will expand a lot and grow mold on them. -The window cranks are also very cheaply made. They have been broken often and most of the time they don't open and close very easily. -The sound reduction between us and our upstairs neighbors is not as great as you would expect it to be. Better than most other old apartments though. We hear a lot of stomping jumping around. Maybe our upstairs neighbors are just really noisy I don't know. -The kitchen center island is very unforgiving when it comes to appearance. It shows every little spot. It starts to look dirty very quickly. Probably can't change it now, but it was just a poor choice by whoever picked it out. -The drawers and cabinet doors on the kitchen island are not well designed. As soon as they are not perfectly aligned, they don't glide back in very easily and they might even make a scraping or screeching noise from the wood rubbing together. -The dark brown carpet in the bedrooms is also very unforgiving. It will show any crumb or piece of dust. It starts to look dirty very quickly. Again, you probably won't change it, but it was a poor choice by whoever picked it out. -The paint on the walls doesn't stay on very well We should be able to properly use command hooks strips without a huge chunk of paint peeling off the wall. -The water is SUPER hard. Calcium build up on everything. I'm surprised this apartment doesn't have a water softening machine. If it does, then I blame the city of Madison for having such hard water, I guess.

Thank you, Heru — I've been a resident at Keystone Apartments for 2 years, and really appreciate the time and care that goes into maintaining the grounds and the quality of the apartment building. Over those two years there have been a few minor maintenance issues which were all taken care of relatively quickly. I had a direct experience with this excellent maintenance last week, when one of the washing machines in the common area would not unlock after the load and some important clothes I needed the next day were trapped inside. It was Easter weekend, and I expected that I would not be able to get help in time. However, I called the after-hours maintenance line and Heru from the maintenance staff got back to me within the hour, and immediately came over despite not being sure if he could help me. Heru fixed the problem very quickly and was so kind and selfless for driving over after hours on a holiday weekend to help.

My only complaint is that there are a lot of cars parked in the parking lot that are not marked no tag not paying to park, and sometimes it's really hard to find a spot that I'm paying for because of this. Otherwise, Keystone is the perfect building for anyone, whether it be a student looking for a place with quiet to study, a family looking for a cozy place to call home, or a pet parent looking for a place that will accept and welcome their furry friend
|Recommended: YesVery clean, great location, friendly staff — The upstairs neighbors can be very loud. Other than that, I have loved living here for two years
|Recommended: YesIt looks great from the outside. — Overall, it's pretty good. However, my emails go unanswered, my phone calls go unreturned and things take months to be fixed. The staff is friendly, but it would have been nice to have my balcony door fixed before it got cold outside.
|Recommended: NoBad — The fees are unreasonable, I have a broken lock on one of my doors since the day I moved in, my neighbor above has the loudest dog, and the mailing can easily be lost.
|Recommended: YesNeat and friendly — The laundry is always crowded on weekends. I hope to have the laundry on each floor. It is not satisfying for a whole building to share the only five washers dryers.
|Recommended: YesModern, kept-up, and surrounded by friendly people. — The staff and management of the Cornerstone Apartments are courteous, knowledgeable, and respond to issues promptly and efficiently. The building itself is beautiful, the communal areas are well-kept and looked after, and I very much enjoy the layout, design, and materials used in my apartment. There is ample, indoor parking beneath the building, and there are a surplus of spaces available. I only find myself wishing there were storage units somewhere in the garage area, as not all of that space is being used for resident parking.
|Recommended: YesLovely place -hard to do laundry — Lovely apartment but building only has five washers and dryers for 60 units and they don't always work well-overused and there is always fluid in the washers-community is quiet and staff is responsive and great-wish there was a workout room or community room.
|Recommended: YesStaff makes a good apartment better — Honestly I love the building. Maintenance requests are always dealt with fast, the staff is always friendly and ALWAYS available speaking from someone whose locked themselves out a few times . The furnishings are nice and modern making the apartment always nice to come home to.
Kelly, yay!!! Thank you for this lovely review, our team appreciates the feedback.
